Kimberly Briggs
Kimberly A. Briggs, OTR/L, CDRS I was born and raised in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and received my Bachelor's Degree in Occupational Therapy from the University of Pittsburgh in 1995. I moved to Arizona shortly thereafter and was employed as an Occupational Therapist in a Level 1 Acute Care Trauma and Rehabilitation Center. I am currently employed in the Home Care arena and plan to extend my skills and new technology concepts to clients in their home environment. I have obtained specialist credentials in Acute Care, Adapted Driving, and I am a licensed Driving Instructor for the State of Arizona.
I am an active member of several National organizations, such as NMEDA and ADED, and have been involved in Shared Leadership since 2000, acting as House Quality Council chair in 2007. My extensive knowledge and experience with high tech driving equipment has led me to active involvment in the development of new and cutting edge programs and treatment modalities utilizing innovative simulation and virtual reality platforms for rehabilitation.
I am a current student at Arizona State University and anticipate receiving my Master's Degree in Healthcare Innovation in June, 2010. In this curriculum I am developing my role as an Innovative/ Inspirational Leader and Transformational Coach. I am learning skills and concepts to build an Innovation Team that functions with emotional competence and is open to new ideas and change. I strive to build a confident and enthusiastic innovative environment where the team members are ready to embrace change, take risks, and overcome obstacles with passionate optimism and a sense of resiliency.
