Accessible Racing Collaborates with HMS Motorsport

Accessible Racing will collaborate with HMS Motorsport and Joie of Seating to complete safety requirements for a NEW Accessible Racing "spec" race car modified for persons with disabilities.
HMS Motorsport owner Joe Marko said, "HMS/Schroth and Joie of Seating are working together to provide the highest level of safety possible for the program similar to that both companies are providing to a number of NASCAR Cup, Nationwide, and Truck series. The safety of the participants of Accessible Racing experience is very important to HMS Motorsport and we are very proud to be a part of this ground-breaking organization."
HMS Motorsport will be providing Schroth competition belts for the race cars. Schroth harnesses have taken the NASCAR world by storm, securing 26 drivers in the Nextel Cup series, as well as many in the Busch and Craftsman Truck series. They offer the same level of support to weekend racers and local heroes.

Also providing support to Accessible Racing is Ed Valpey, a New Hampshire motorsports enthusiast who teaches offensive driving skills to military personnel such as NAVY SEALs, Special Forces, and "unclassified personnel," in addition to top government employees in the Defense Department and Secret Service. Valpey suggested skills training courses that teach new skills versus merely having participants compete with skills they already have.
Accessible Racing exposed a need and demand for persons with disabilities to share equal opportunities that would allow them to "arrive and drive" a race car. Until now, these services were only available to able-body pedal pushers in standard race cars. They recently received official 501 (C)(3) non-profit approval from the Internal Revenue Service.
