US Olympic medallist Bode Miller Drives Cumberland Farms American Spectator Driving Challenge at Canaan USA Speedway
US Olympic medallist Bode Miller learned to drive Cumberland Farms/Pepsi race car from some of the most legendary short track drivers in the region, such as Dave Dion, Stub Fadden, Harold Hanaford and Doug Hurst at Canaan USA speedway.

Bode's Gold Medal performance in Cumberland Farms American Spectator Driving Challenge is part of a new Pepsi Challenge available in all New Hampshire Cumberland Farms convenience stores. After a quick orientation and tour of the track with Busch North competitor Doug Hurst, legendary NASCAR driver Stub Fadden showed Miller the fast line around the track. NASCAR goodwill ambassador Dave Dion then strapped into the passenger seat and coached Bode through the final stages of Cumberland Farms/Pepsi American Spectator Driving Challenge that ended with a Gold Medal performance. Bode said, "Great to find the limits on a top level racecar and see what all the rave is about. It's a test of skill and nerve, incredible experience!"

Miller & Dion discuss intensity and similarities of ski racing and auto racing. Bode explains, "I felt comfortable with the speed and line on the race track because its something I deal with all the time. We have to carry speed threw each corner perfectly because gravity is our source of speed." Dion adds, "If we carry to much speed into the corner with a racecar and over shoot the entry point of the corner, we push up the track and cannot turn the car with steering. A driver gets back online with a balance of break & throttle. When we hit the apex of the turn we apply power to let the engine turn the back of the car through the corner."
