President and Co-Founder Brian Hanaford grew up in a racing family. His dad, Harold "Hard Luck" Hanaford, was one of the most respected northern New England racing drivers of the 1960s.

Hanaford’s mentor, Ken Squire, guided him to his first opportunity, created by Mike Massaro’s media internship at Stafford Motor Speedway. "Brian shares the same desire and determination that marked his dad’s success," says Squire. "He has proven that he is willing to do whatever is necessary and demonstrates real creativity as he strives to build a better understanding of America’s leading motor sport, stock car racing."

Peter Ruprecht's father founded Drive-Master in 1952 after he had become seriously handicapped from adult polio. He soon realized that there was little he could do without the freedom of driving his automobile. Unfortunately, the hand controls available at the time were too costly and poorly constructed. Using his engineering background and vast experience with cars and metals, he designed the Drive-Master push-pull hand control system.

Based upon his experience with a wide range of disabling conditions, Dave developed a revolutionary rehabilitation program for hospitals in 1994. The program was designed to utilize a laser-guided precision air rifle as a tool for physical therapists to use in the rehabilitation of their post-injury patients.

Dave Baskin’s addition to the advisory board will add a wealth of knowledge and experience to Accessible Racing’s efforts to serve the nation’s large disabled population in a meaningful manner.

Sam started rebuilding cars with his dad, working in a machine shop taking apart street and race motors, doing machine work, and putting back together.

At 24 years of age, Sam was injured in an auto accident resulting in a spinal cord injury. He got divorced and raised his son, and after a couple years, went back to racing.
